Umoja Health Youth Mobilizer Application

Background: The Umoja Health Youth Mobilizer Program was created in 2021 to engage youth voices in promoting COVID-19 vaccine awareness and uptake in 18-30 years old residents of Alameda County. Over the past two years, it has evolved to encompass a wide range of public health issues affecting the youth of today but the core mission remains to uplift the overall health of Black and Latino Communities in Oakland and the larger Alameda County area.
Youth Mobilizer Job Description: The Youth Mobilizers Crew will collect data via surveys; use data to create effective public health messages; disseminate the messages; creat social media content, and participate in the planning and delivery of community activities where direct COVID-19 services are delivered.
Compensation: $20 per hour (plus opportunities for bonus payments)
Requirements:
Basic qualifications (required)

- 18 to 30 years old
- Commitment to uplifting the overall health of Black and Latino Communities in Oakland/Alameda County
- Speak, read, and write in English
Additional Skills (preferred)

- Technical skills using tablets, QR codes, electronic sign-up systems and Google forms; familiarity with online surveys
- Social media skills/large social media following
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Additional language capability (Spanish, Amharic, Tigrinya, other)
Time Commitment

- 10-15 hours a week
- Expected: Monday Youth Mobilizer meeting (6 to 7pm) and Tuesday Umoja Health Informational meeting (4-530pm)
- Optional: attendance at community organization planning meetings; variable dates/times
