2024-2025 UCSF Clinical Nursing Research Grant Statement of Interest |
UCSF Health Center for Nursing Excellence and Innovation and UCSF School of Nursing (SON) are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2024-2025 UCSF Clinical Nursing Research (CNR) Grant. This grant program provides support for pilot research projects led by a collaborative investigator team that includes a UCSF SON faculty member and a UCSF Health clinical nurse.
The primary goals of this grant program are to:
· Foster the spirit of clinical inquiry among nurses at UCSF Health.
· Develop knowledge and skills in applying the scientific method to answer clinical research questions.
· Develop and strengthen partnerships between faculty members and clinical nurses to design and implement clinically meaningful research projects that lead to the creation of new knowledge that impacts the healthcare of patients, families, and communities served by UCSF.
Each CNR grant proposal can be funded for up to $20,000 for 12 months.
The proposed research project must be done by a collaborative team that includes a UCSF SON faculty member and a UCSF Health clinical nurse as multiple Principal Investigators (PIs) or Co‐PIs. Proposals by Interdisciplinary research teams are encouraged.
Funding preference will be given to innovative projects that demonstrate the potential for extramural funding and are clearly aligned with UCSF Health's vision, values, and strategic goals:
o Quality and Patient Safety
o Workforce Health and Wellness
o Equitable Care Delivery
o Community and Population Health
To ensure proposals meet eligibility requirements and program priorities, applicants are required to submit a Statement of Interest (SOI) as the first step in the application process. Full proposals will be invited for submission after the approval of the SOI.
SOI will be evaluated based on the completeness, co-PI team eligibility, and alignment with CNR program goals. Scholarly merit and research quality will NOT be evaluated at the SOI stage.
